black friday....
i would not be honest with you if i said i wasn't going to go out...to at least one or two places.
but my black friday stops are not the normal electronic hustle and bustle (although i totally get that).
i usually tend to check out places like jbandme and other local boutiques because they have some serious sales. although my friend laura isn't letting any information leak to me!
here at found we will be celebrating at 10am normal store hours.
30% because we might be out there in the masses ourselves and 70% because we love turkey and might be in a turkey coma until at least 9:30 hahaha.
come and join us after the morning madness at 10am for 20% off the entire store all day (until 5:30) and we will have beverages and treats for you all morning long!
we can't wait to get our holiday shopping on!
here is a peek at some of the new arrivals....

Helping Hand!
On November 9, Downtown Holland merchants are asking you to “shop for a cause.” As the need continues to grow on the East Coast because of devastation from Hurricane Sandy, many of the local merchants will be donating 10% of that day’s sales or promoting donation jars to give to the Red Cross.
Participating stores will be marked by red balloons. Whether you are getting a head start on your Christmas shopping or picking up a small item “just because,” you can come support “Our Hands Reaching East” by shopping at your local downtown merchants on Friday.
Join us at FOUND, Holland today as 10% of ALL sales will be going to help our friends out east!
Thank you JB and ME girls for putting this together!!!

When Unexpected Things Happen...
When unexpected things happen...
A year ago Found made the leap to expand its flagship location in Holland by opening a smaller second store in Grand Rapids on Cherry street. It was a scramble to be open in time for the holidays but we managed to be up and running by Dec 1. We enjoyed a great holiday season and what was the start of a new following of FOUND fans in Grand Rapids and we appreciate each and every one of you..
The ability to keep 2 stores going at that time was made possible by the addition of a 3rd person. It doesn't take a village to run multiple stores but it does take a little manpower (excuse me, womanpower!) to keep in all going...
But sometimes unexpected things happen - and partway into our calendar year our new partner announced her decision not to continue with the store . And after much careful thought and consideration we have made the difficult decision to close our Grand Rapids location at the end of November.
There may be a new Grand Rapids location in our future but our Holland store is busy and thriving and we are focusing on providing the best products and customer care we can! If you haven't been to our Holland location it is a much larger space which affords us the ability to offer not only a larger selection of all the great things you could find in Grand Rapids but expanded design and custom paint and upholstery as well.
This decision was not an easy one. It simply came down to quality vs. quantity. We couldn't provide our loyal customers the quality they deserved and expected with just the two of us.
We are looking forward to a cozy holiday season in Holland and hope to see you out there! We will also be diligent about posting the fun new arrivals that appear almost daily.
Be sure to visit us at the many exciting Holiday events and shows coming up! Look for us this weekend at the Forest Hills Eastern gift show as well as the Downtown Holland Shopping Jam!
We are sorry to see our little Cherry street store close but we look forward to seeing you at our Holland location soon.
And mention the code word 'Cherry' and recieve 10% off your purchase through December 31st.
Looking forward to seeing you!

wrapped up in you
i have always loved fall and winter in michigan.
primarily because of the clothing options that we get year round.
michiganders seriously have to have 4 different wardrobes and make sure that our statement pieces are "transitional".
accessories are a great option for making your staples (black jacket, favorite jeans, sweater) look different each time you wear them.
one of my favorite accessories is the scarf. (which by the way i have almost 50 new styles going on the floor today. all $12.
yup all $12.
here are a few of my favorite ways/inspirations for wearing scarves today.
enjoy!

the guide to shopping found on line....
it's finally here! a way to shop FOUND on line from anywhere in the U.S. (and international if you are willing to pay the shipping :) )
there are a few struggles with a store like ours and selling on line which we had to work around.
- vintage is one of a kind
- there is only three of us and maintaining an ecommerce website might end us. physically lol
- we sell alot of furniture and custom pieces.
the solution?
facebook!
(thank you mark z)
from now on when we post a picture on our website that is eligable for the online buying option we will say:
description, size, measurements (if necessary), quantity and price.
if you would like to purchase the item say,
bag and ship it! (if you would like to have us ship it)
bag and i'll pick it up (if you would like to pick it up in store)
wait!? how do you pay for it?
in order to bag it, you need to fill out a shopping account on our facebook page.
all data is stored in a secure server and will never be shared with ANYONE!
all items will be charged and ship on fridays. that way if you buy multiple things throughout the week you will only be charged shipping once.
lets do an example? pretend this is a facebook post:

transitions
like ryann said yesterday...you may not agree with me... but i'm ready for fall.
this summer has been great but it's been hot and call me crazy but i don't MIND the snow (as long as it is over by march).
if you read my personal blog (www.binksandthebadhousewife.com) you would know that my husband put the smack down on me about our fiscal spending plan. (i hate the word budget, ick)
i'm a gal on a fiscal spending plan and i am always shopping for clothing that i can wear from season to season.
this is an emily and fin dress from the shop. it's great in the summer with nothing but a pair of flip flops and a simple necklace.

emily and fin megan dress $83
but i totally think you could pull this dress off into late fall.
my go to transitional accessories: tights, loafers and cardigans.
the sleeves on this dress are perfect for a cardigan, no ruffles no embellishments so there won't be any bulging under your sweater.
i just re read that and it sounded dirty. woops.
something like...
or to really shake thing up...
if the whole cardi thing aint yo style you could always go from underneath
nothing is classier than a crisp white blouse layered with well..anything!
i have an order in for all of the colors in the rainbow for tights coming early september!
thus concludes the layering for transitions lesson for the day.

Ready for Fall * Guest Post *
Guest Post by Ryann of Twig & Belle
I know this won't be a popular sentiment. But I'm ready for fall. The heat, the stickiness, the way my legs stick to the leather of my car seat, I'm over it. Over summer. I can hardly believe it myself. But I love fall, the colors and the smoky smells, and back to school excitation. I'm ready.
In preparation I've been gathering ideas for fall decor. I'm planning on cozy-fying my bedroom. Here's what I've been looking at so far:
Just saying....

In preparation I've been gathering ideas for fall decor. I'm planning on cozy-fying my bedroom. Here's what I've been looking at so far:
I love the layering
of textiles and the unusual objects.
Got to love this interior from Ralph Lauren. Plaid and leopard print? Yes please
Leather tufted sofa, a mannequin wearing a fencing mask and lots of potted
plants. I could hole up in this room until winter was over.
This is actually the interior of
the living room from the Sherlock Holmes movie. I like the big faded Persian
rug, stacks of books and lazy luxury of it.
Using these as inspiration I made
this mood board:
Wallace Plaid Blanket $89 @thescottishweaver. Butterfly Poster $24
@urbanoutfitters. Deer Head Hook $22 @anthropologie. Deer Fiber Wall Art $69
@urbanoutfitters. Faux Mink Throw $59 @zgallerie. Antique Persian Rug=Auction.
Globe and Wernicke Bookcase=Auction $300-$500.
I'd love to have a bedroom like this, with a cozy gentlemen's club sort of feel. I'd make a cup of tea and curl up with a good book (maybe Sherlock Holmes) and never leave!
However......
This wouldn't be too bad either....
