Back in 2006 two sisters created the independant fashion label Alice takes a trip. With dresses inspired by Victorian dolls, fairy tales & myths to tees and sweats that add an edgy stamp to current trends. Alice takes a trip is now stocked in shops & boutiques worldwide.

Our dresses, skirts & shorts are made locally in the UK and our tee's, sweats & bags are hand finished by our team here in our studio making Alice takes a trip that extra bit special. . .

another new line coming from london! this will not be arriving until spring :) trust me....worth the wait. i'm borderline obsessed with this new line.

there are a few struggles with a store like ours and selling on line which we had to work around.

- vintage is one of a kind
- there is only three of us and maintaining an ecommerce website might end us. physically lol
- we sell alot of furniture and custom pieces.

from now on when we post a picture on our website that is eligable for the online buying option we will say:

description, size, measurements (if necessary), quantity and price.

if you would like to purchase the item say,

bag and ship it! (if you would like to have us ship it)
bag and i'll pick it up (if you would like to pick it up in store)

wait!? how do you pay for it?

in order to bag it, you need to fill out a shopping account on our facebook page.

all data is stored in a secure server and will never be shared with ANYONE!

all items will be charged and ship on fridays. that way if you buy multiple things throughout the week you will only be charged shipping once.

like ryann said yesterday...you may not agree with me... but i'm ready for fall.

this summer has been great but it's been hot and call me crazy but i don't MIND the snow (as long as it is over by march).

if you read my personal blog (www.binksandthebadhousewife.com) you would know that my husband put the smack down on me about our fiscal spending plan. (i hate the word budget, ick)

i'm a gal on a fiscal spending plan and i am always shopping for clothing that i can wear from season to season.

this is an emily and fin dress from the shop. it's great in the summer with nothing but a pair of flip flops and a simple necklace.

but i totally think you could pull this dress off into late fall.

my go to transitional accessories: tights, loafers and cardigans.

the sleeves on this dress are perfect for a cardigan, no ruffles no embellishments so there won't be any bulging under your sweater.

i just re read that and it sounded dirty. woops.

something like...

this cream pullover belted with tights and brown boots...

or to really shake thing up...

I love the idea of this bright orange cardi paired with some vintage penny loafers

if the whole cardi thing aint yo style you could always go from underneath

nothing is classier than a crisp white blouse layered with well..anything!

Ready for Fall * Guest Post *

I know this won't be a popular sentiment. But I'm ready for fall. The heat, the stickiness, the way my legs stick to the leather of my car seat, I'm over it. Over summer. I can hardly believe it myself. But I love fall, the colors and the smoky smells, and back to school excitation. I'm ready.
In preparation I've been gathering ideas for fall decor. I'm planning on cozy-fying my bedroom. Here's what I've been looking at so far:

I love the layering of textiles and the unusual objects.

 

Got to love this interior from Ralph Lauren. Plaid and leopard print? Yes please

Leather tufted sofa, a mannequin wearing a fencing mask and lots of potted plants. I could hole up in this room until winter was over.

This is actually the interior of the living room from the Sherlock Holmes movie. I like the big faded Persian rug, stacks of books and lazy luxury of it.

palazzo pants.

ok the thought of palazzo pants to me screams. 80's fun. for. your life.

but ever since my newest local jewelry designer...erin from Man Vs. Nature (pic's coming soon) came in wearing some so effortlessly on a hot day with a plain white t shirt...i've kind of decided i need some too.
