no title.

many times we get asked the question

"Where do you guys find all of this stuff?!"

true we do go to a lot of sales. many times though we meet people along the way that start off as resources and quickly become friends.

the first time i wrote about Charisse was back in May. I went to buy vintage and left hours later after too many cups of coffee, stories, clothing...and cheese.

many of my visits to Charisse's treasure trove were exactly like this. i would go on "business" but end up staying past dark. joe eventually stopped wondering where i was when i went "buying" because he always knew.

about an hour ago i was just delivered the news that Charisse had passed away from a heart attack. she was only in her 50's.

it's hard to accept that a bright vibrant person who had such a love of sharing her treasures was just. gone.

after her mom and i wiped away our tears we set a date next month for me to make a final visit to her house and purchase the rest of her collection.

this is going to be very difficult for this is the stuff that she wouldn't sell to me when she was still with us. these were her loves.

it took me not more than 2 seconds to decide that 10% of my sales from Charisse's things will go to her other loves...her kitties. i will be donating the 10% to the Mackenzie's Animal Shelter.

to read about my first meeting with her please reference this post

life is too short. treasure good friends and family.

  1. Very nice post about your friend Abs...I'm sure she will be looking down appreciating all that you will do with her wonderful treasures, and that you will de donating a proceed to her love: the kitties.
