favorite pair of jeans

So this friday evening is Hollands Up On The Rooftop event and for some reason we were asked to participate with our funky little downtown pad...

 
Over the last 20 something years I have calculated I have owned 6 houses - of course always  the kind that required more than just a little paint . I suppose that is the trappings of being a designer..

 But after tackling a major house flipping project a couple of years ago, my hubby and I agreed that was the last one. Period. Getting way to old to be gutting houses. In the winter. With 4 teenagers. Plus they all grew up and moved out . And then sent us all the bills for college. And food. And rent..

 

So there we were with lots of empty space to heat and clean and repair and lots of tuition to pay. We stumbled across the opportunity to rent the apartment above our shop and we said why not? For now anyway. So we quick sold our house (yes, in 3 weeks!) and embarked upon another renovation project but at least wwaaayyy smaller.

Moving from a big house to a tiny space requires lots of editng. And you can only take the things you really want to keep. So if you had to pick one thing from your closet you could take with you to use everday I would guess many of us would grab their favorite pair of jeans. So that is how I decorated our place. My favorite worn in time tested things. Cause when you get home at the end of the day you just want to be comfortable.

 

If you are heading out for the Rooftop event dont expect to be amazed by over the top decorating - just stop in and take a moment to relax...
